China’s credit demand may be partially supported by policy-backed financing tools, according to Barclays economists.They note credit growth slowed to a 16-month low in March, but policymakers have signaled plans to expand policy-supported funding channels, including financial bond issuance through banks, to support green transition and infrastructure investment.These measures could help offset persistently weak private-sector credit demand, they add.
